美式英语中有许多的俚语，一起来学习学习吧。
1、 dwell on
dwell on的本意是驻扎留守的意思，但在俚语中相当于stop thinking about，意思是不要再想某人某事。
例句：
We shouldn’t dwell on someone’s past.
我们不该总抓住一个人的过去不放。
2、 hang out
A: I don't know what is going on lately. Jack seems to curse a lot these days.
A: 不知道最近 Jack 怎么搞的。 他经常口出恶言。
B: Well, that's just what you get from hanging out with the wrong crowd.
B: 嗯, 交错了朋友就是这样啊!
"hang out" 是和朋友一起做一些事。看电影、逛街、聊天都算。也不限指异性朋友。
3、 kiss ass

4、 hit the road.
A: Do you want to come in for some tea?

B: No. I'm running late. I really need to hit the road.
B: 不了。我快迟到了, 得上路了。
"running late" 是快迟到了的意思。
"Hit the road" 的 "hit" 有「去」的意思。好比某人每周去健身房三次, 你就可以说 "He hits the gym three times a week."。
"I really need to hit the road." 还可以用说成"I really need to get going."。
5、 You flatter me. 你过奖了
A: Ron. I saw your art show last night, and I must let you know how amazed I was by your incredible accomplishments.

6、 It's killing me把我累死了

"It's killing me." 是表示某事很折腾人的意思。
如"Her singing is killing me." 她的歌声(很恐怖)简直要我的命!
7、 Click(两个)蛮合得来的
I really like talking to her. I think we two really click.
我很喜欢和她说话。我觉得我们两个蛮合得来的。
好玩的字吧! 不过 click 不一定只用在异性之间。朋友之间的频率相同也可以用。

8、 Suck 糟透了差劲
A: Guess what? We've just now missed the bus, and the next one won't come for another 45 minutes.

"suck" 是「差劲」的意思。 "That movie sucks." 是「那部电影真是糟透了」的意思。
9、 Brush off 不理睬
A: Have you talked to Mr. Smith about Ben's obscene speech towards you?
A: 你跟 Smith 先生提过 Ben对你讲的猥亵的话吗?
B: Yes, but he brushed it off as if it were not a big deal to him.

"brush away(aside)" 也是“不理”的意思。
如"He brushed aside our objection."(他无视我们的反对)。
10、 Push around 驱使(某人)
A. Kyle, do you think you can rewrite this paper. I don't really like the topic.
A: Kyle, 你想你是不是可以把这个报告重写一遍。我并不是很喜欢那个主题。
B: Hey, I'm only trying to help you out. You shouldn't be pushing me around like this.

11、 Hang in there忍耐一下
Hang in there. 的意思是忍耐一下。
例句：
Hang in there. Things will look up soon.

12、 Come on to吃某人豆腐
come on to 的意思是“对某人轻薄，吃某人豆腐”
例句：
Tracy slapped Joe after he came on to her.
Tracy在Joe对她轻薄之后打了他一巴掌。
13、 Yummy舒适的,愉快的,漂亮
Yummy 可以作为形容词，除了有“舒适的,愉快的,美味的"的意思。
在俚语中还有 "漂亮，好看"的意思。
除了形容词，还可以作为名词，复数形式为yummies，做名词时，意思为“漂亮的女人/女孩”。

15、 Hnds-off不插手的, 不干涉的, 顺其自然
Hnds-off的意思是不插手的, 不干涉的，可以引申为顺其自然的。

16、 Laid back什么意思?
laid back在俚语中主要有两个意思。
第一个解释：放松，悠闲，冷静(relaxed, calm, not anxious)
例句：
Very cool laid back vibe.

第二个解释：脾气好，对事情不计较，很少争吵。
例句：

Any time的解释： 不客气; 有事尽管开口。

当别人向我们道谢时, 我们除了可以用"You're welcome."(不客气!)外, 还可以用"Any time.", 意思是“不用客气! 有事随时开口。”的意思。这句话真的很常用。
20、Beats me什么意思?

"ad" 是"advertisement" 的简称, 在口语里面常见到
"Check this out!" Check it out!也是句常用的句子。当你要告诉别人一件事, 或要对方看一个东西的时候, 就可以用这句话来引起他的注意。当作“告诉你!”时, 用法跟"Guess what?"、"You know what?"、"You know something?"等的用法都差不多, 都是一些没有真正实际的意思的一些类似发语词的句子。
22、Alive and kicking什么意思?
